Weekends in Austin
Over the weekend two of our sweetest friends got married at THE cutest venue in Dripping Springs. This venue is the perfect balance of cuteness and rustic chic, and the MOST gorgeous bride did an amazing job of using her florals and decorations to bring out these qualities!
I really cannot say enough about how beautiful this wedding was, and how much fun we had on the dance floor.
And I love ANY wedding that includes a photo booth!!! This one was even more amazing because they had cut-outs of murals from around Austin. I thought this was such a great little addition!
After a fabulous and fun evening of celebrating Steph & Will, David and I headed back in to town to do a little wedding planning of our own!
When we first started planning our wedding we thought we would still be living in Texas, and therefore planned our wedding to be in our favorite Texas town of Austin. Now that we've moved to Chicago, it makes wedding planning a little more difficult. So, any time we're in town, we make sure to check some wedding-related items off our list!
Last weekend's task included something David and myself were most excited about – our cake tasting at Sweet Treets!!! I cannot say enough about how impressed I've been with the cakes this bakery whips up ... and now I can also tell you that they are DELICIOUS.
David and I have really different tastes when it comes to sweets, so we're still debating on our flavors. I definitely pulled out the "I'm the BRIDE" card with our fillings ... David LOVES raspberry, so I chose some raspberry options so we could try them out, but I ended up poo pooing the filling because I am just not in to jams on cakes (it was a jammy consistency). Luckily, we compromised on a cream cheese filling, and now we're just deciding on cake flavors! The big decisions. Struggle is too real!
After our tasting we met up with some of our best friends to CONTINUE my birthday celebrations (I never want them to end ...).
If you didn't believe me before, David does not care when it comes to what I look like in photos. Apparently he wants them to be VERY genuine. So, we end up with photos of me scratching my nose!
Anyway, the first place we went was Bangers Sausage House & Beer Garden for lunch. My WORD. It was sooooooo good.
Bangers has a great variety of sausages – even veggie! (which is what I opted to get for lunch)
^^^ Guys. Seriously. These are the photos David takes!!!!
In addition to great food, the weather was absolutely perfect (maybe even a little too warm?!?! Definitely not like being in Chicago in February! ha!) Having lunch here was a great way to catch up with some of our friends before meeting up with a larger group.
Next we headed next door to Lucille's, where there was a little shade and lots of games. We stayed here for a couple hours, and really soaked up the sun.
Before dinner David and I met up with his mom at the Driskill. I have to let out another, "oh my." This hotel was jaw dropping. Just check out the photo below!
For dinner, David found what he described as the most "Insta-worthy" restaurant in town, also known as Eberly!
In addition to being the very cutest restaurant, the food was also incredibly delicious.
I had the very best weekend with the very best friends, and I am so happy we got to start the weekend by celebrating Steph and Will!
