VIVA Las Vegas
Over the weekend we took a very quick trip to Las Vegas to celebrate our dear friends' elopement! While I've only been to Vegas once before, and I am not the biggest Vegas fan, we could not have been happier to celebrate people we love. – And a bonus, our old roommate was also in town, so the three of us stayed together, Three's Company style, just the way I like it.
If you've been to Vegas a lot, the next few paragraphs are going to be kind of obvious to you. I apologize now. I am NOT a Vegas expert.
Since it was such a quick trip we didn't have time to really see/eat (eat being the keyword ... our favorite thing to do) that many places, but we did make sure to get up and venture over to The Cosmopolitan to eat at The Henry. David (and therefore me, because I always eat at least 1/4 of his meal.) ordered the BEST dish. Seriously. I would go back to Vegas just to eat this Short Rib Benedict. It's creamy, it's sweet, it's savory. It's topped with an egg. You can't go wrong.
After that, we ventured over to the Bellagio. As I stated above, I'm not really in to Vegas, but I do like the Bellagio. Not only do they have the MOST beautiful Chihuly installation, (see cover photo!) they also have a neat rotating Conservatory and Botanical garden AND an art museum with rotating exhibits. The theme of the Conservatory and Botanical Garden when we were there was around the Chinese New Year.
After exploring the instillations, I learned how to play craps from some of the best (it took three people – including the dealer). Andddd I WON. And I am glad we left when I was up, because I found out how FUN gambling can be.
And then the event that we were all waiting for started!!! We headed to the one and ONLY Little White Chapel (and all of the Friends references were made).
If you're gonna elope, why go anywhere else but where ELVIS can marry you?! Seriously. Elvis. Our friends had the best reception in the suite, and then we all headed out on the town!
If we had more time, I would have liked to have gone to a show or two, but overall we had such a great time, and celebrated with some of the best people!
CONGRATULATIONS, Davy and Jessi!
