Whelp, it's official. My 30th birthday has come and gone! And I gotta tell you ... so far 30 feels pretty similar to 29.
David planned the greatest night for us to celebrate. We started by checking out some places near Next, the restaurant where David had late evening dinner reservations for us.
The first place we visited was RM Champagne Salon. I mean. Come on. This adorable restaurant had me hooked as soon as I saw its name! The bartenders were absolutely amazing. The second they found out it was my birthday they gave us complimentary drinks, and we had some great conversations.
I am definitely considering having my bachelorette dinner here – I think everyone would love the ambiance.
After a glass of champagne (or two), we headed over to RM Champagne's sister restaurant, Nellcôte. Give me chandelieres, and I can almost guarantee I will be obsessed.
From here we headed to dinner at Next. If you're not familiar with this restaurant, they completely change their menus and dining experience every four months. Right now their theme is Ancient Rome. Everything was based on how it would have been done back in the 700's, including a menu in full Latin. To complete they experience they paired the menu with a cookbook by Apicius, which entailed Roman recipes. Check out some of our absolutely amazing dishes below!
Not only was this meal absolutely amazing, it was also extremely creative, and a really neat experience. If you have the opportunity, I highly suggest checking our Next.
The next day I spent the morning with my favorite niece, and then David and I went to THRONES! The Musical Parody on the Game of Thrones. David and I love Game of Thrones, and this was seriously ABSOLUTELY hilarious. You can't take photos during the performance so I can't give you photographic evidence of how awesome it was, but I cannot recommend this parody enough... especially if you're a Game of Thrones fan.
Because David believes in celebrating birthdays for weeks, rather than just a day, we're doing another mini celebration with some of our Houston friends this coming weekend, after the wedding of some of our wonderful pals on Friday. Can't wait to tell you all about it!
